Go Brother Randy! We are so happy for you.
HOUR OF PRAYER Please join the Chalmette Church of Christ as we pray for our nation. When: June 1, 2016 Where: At your regular Wednesday Night Bible Class GOD BLESS AMERICA! Praying For Our Nation Dear brethren This letter is to request your participation in a Day of Prayer for our nation - Wednesday, June 1, 2016 during Bible study. The goal is for the entire church to unite in prayer to God for America. Hopefully, our brethren internationally will join us as well. The effort will help strengthen each congregation who participates and demonstrate a united effort throughout the brotherhood. Most importantly, our prayers will ascend to the throne of Almighty God. He will hear our concerns, he will know our hearts, and he will answer our prayers. America was founded on a belief in God. Clearly we are now at a different time in our history, for at no point in our history has our nation ever taken such an aggressive posture against God. This is especially alarming because it has come from the highest offices in our land. Our nation was already murdering millions of babies annually. A group was recorded agreeing to sell babies’ body parts. As if that were not enough, the Supreme Court has decided to legalize homosexual marriage. This decision is unprecedented in our nation’s history, and is certainly displeasing to God. Additionally, there have been numerous shootings, racial division and an overall sense of approved immorality in our land. In the midst of it all there is a growing intolerance of religious belief and practice. People have been jailed and fined for standing firm to their religious convictions, and an elected official is on record requesting preacher’s sermons to check the content. Isaiah’s words are certainly appropriate for our nation: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!” We, the people of God, the salt of the earth, the light of the world, have an amazing opportunity before us. By our faithfulness we can reflect the glory of God and His Christ through this darkness. First, let us come together and acknowledge the real enemy is the wicked one and his influence. Then let us unite in the greatest prayer effort our nation has ever known; the church of our Lord will plead to God for America for one hour. Abraham pled for Sodom and Gomorrah, and in the days of Ezekiel, God sought a man to plead for the people so He would not destroy them. Brethren we know there is a cause, it is God’s will to save not destroy. Please join us in praying to our Father, for our nation. We believe in God and because of God we believe in prayer. May God bless His church; may God bless America! Please forward to other Churches in your area, and include the Chalmette Church in the email. Our mailing address is: Chalmette Church of Christ P.O.
